Glam Slam: Fashion Frenzy!

“It’s Cavalli. I just like saying it.” Miley Cyrus did a little name-dropping last night at the CMA Awards in Nashville, excited about her floral Roberto Cavalli halter gown.

“My back is getting cold. It’s all backless,” she said.

Carrie Underwood also hit the CMA Awards red carpet in Cavalli – hers a bright yellow gown – just one of nine wardrobe changes throughout the night. Nicole Kidman was classic in a black fringed knee length dress, Reese Witherspoon wore black lace Marchesa and Taylor Swift dazzled in a Kaufman Franco metallic sequined gown.

“It is 30 pounds worth of heavy,” Taylor joked with us.

“Dancing With the Stars” and country singing cutie Julianne Hough stood out in a hot pink Angel Sanchez gown with ruffled train.

“I was a little scared when I saw pink, because I’m not much of a pink wearer. But I put it on; it’s just really dramatic and fun and bubbly kind of you know, the same way I am,” she laughed.

Meanwhile, last night in Hollywood, I met Italian designer Alberta Ferretti at the opening of her first U.S. flagship store on Melrose Avenue. Her clothes are beautiful and ladylike and the sleek 4,500-square-foot store showcases several Ferretti collections, as well as accessories and shoes.

Nicole Richie (out for the second night in a row), looked gorgeous in a long silver silk gown with Christian Louboutin snakeskin platforms. Boyfriend Joel Madden was there with her. (I had no idea he was so short – can I say that?)

Also attending, Lucy Liu, who co-hosted the celebration, in a teal fringe dress, Nicky Hilton in a short navy sequined dress… and Emmy Rossum in a royal blue chiffon one shouldered number… all Ferretti designs… of course.

“She’s feminine, classic, very glamorous & classy and that’s why I love her stuff,” Emmy told us.
