Glam Slam: Spring Trends For Kids

Grownups aren’t the only ones who get to update their wardrobes with bright fun, fresh spring looks. Kids get into the style act too! Project Runway winner and designer of edgy kids line La Miniatura shares the top trends for the hip kiddie set.

COLORED DENIM will be everywhere soon… and with good reason; kids looooove it!!!! (Just check out Kingston Rossdale). My philosophy is every kid has a FAVORITE color…and when they find cool jeans in that color, the jeans become their FAVORITE thing to wear. Most days I send my son Harrison to school in some color of La Miniatura crayon denim (his favorite is gold), and most days he is greeted by his classmates with “Cool pants!!!!!”

BOY’S WEAR FOR GIRLS: Like the trend two years ago in contemporary fashion, where menswear for women became hot again, girls (like Shiloh Jolie-Pitt) are loving the dress up/down game by wearing their “brother’s” jeans, jacket or sweat shirt….Go ANNIE HALL!!!!!

BLAZERS aren’t just for holidays anymore… plus our sons and daughters love wearing them in a cool way! It’s true — contemporary parents are decidedly dressing their kids up in ways that are a little more sophisticated and fun while getting more for their dollars, and their kids enjoy looking cooler and being able to dress uniquely. Drop the notion that blazers are only for special occasions, and you can turn Monday morning school drop off into a special occasion.

TIE-DYE isn’t just for hippies anymore. In fact, it looks like tie-dye might be becoming a staple color option in children’s wear. And why not?? Tie-dye is fun, bold and freeeee!!!! And while it might look wild to see grown men wearing these crazy patterns, I love to see little humans wearing what looks like clouds, cotton candy, or liquid lava lamp prints.
