Glam Slam: The Friday Five — Travel Like a Jet-Setter

I will be hitting the road for the Fourth of July holiday and I wish I could look half as glamorous as the stars who seem to turn the airport into their own fashion runway.

But, we can all travel a little more stylishly thanks to these five tips from InStyle Magazine.

FORGET THE SWEATS:
Layer breathable basics — cotton T-shirts, light wool sweaters — over tight, stretchy jeans, which maintain their shape after hours of sitting. Finish with a drapey scarf, which can double as a blanket, and slip-on ankle boots. Always wear a shoe that needs a sock, there’s nothing worse than going barefoot through security.

TURN TO TOWELETTES:
Save space (and avoid potential leaks) by packing wipes infused with sunscreen, facial cleanser and hand sanitizer. Individual packets are best since they are less likely than bigger sizes to dry out.

DON’T FADE OUT:
Carry concealer and a cheek stain for in-flight touch-ups. Even better? Invest in a travel-friendly palette.

TOSS HAIR TO THE SIDE:
Even the most voluminous waves fall flat on transatlantic flights, and buns don’t make it easy to lean back and sleep. So try a low side pony, it’s simple enough to redo without a mirror.

GET ZEN:
Block out crying babies and chatty seatmates with noise-cancelling headphones and a relaxing aural meditation.

BEAUTY BONUS:
London! Paris! New York! Rio! Who wouldn’t want to jet off to one of these fab destinations? Now you can go global — no passport needed — with DKNY’s new Global Fragrances, which celebrate four amazing cities. Not surprisingly, Be Delicious Hearts Paris and Be Delicious Hearts London are my two faves. Available at Sephora.
