Glam Slam: Winter Hairstyle Trends To Try

Happy 2013!

Nothing like starting off the New Year experimenting with new styles for your hair.

Britney Huniker, owner of The Argyle Salon & Spa in LA and founder of Brazilian Blowout, suggests three looks to try.

1. Deep Side Part – The Comb Over:
Women have always worn the deep side part, but this winter, we are seeing it all over the runways of Paris to the red carpet (like on Jessica Chastain). A deep side part is the new “sexy – must have” hairstyle.

This is a very sophisticated look that really opens up the face, whether you are wearing a sleek side part with your hair down, curled or even pulled back into a bun this is a very under stated easy look to achieve. Decide which side of your head you want to part your hair on. Once you have found the side, draw the line with a comb and use the end of a tail comb to get that perfect part.

Take a fingertip amount of L’Oreal Texture Expert Lumi Controle Defining Polish and rub it in between your fingertips and apply to the mid-shaft of hair and work your way up to the root. This will tame the hair into place and give you that polished look. If you are going to curl the hair, you would do that at this time. If not or finished with the curls, finish the look with Citre Shine Mist Spray.

You will spray the hair holding the shine spray about 6 inches from the hair.

2. Polished Ponytail:
Don’t have the time to define your waves or blow-dry your hair, not to worry! A polished ponytail is sure to fit your style.

This minimalistic and natural look is simple and chic with a touch of class. (Check out Garcelle Beauvais for proof!) To achieve a polished ponytail, put your hair up in a simple ponytail that suits the frame of your face using a boar bristle brush to help smooth the kinks.

Finish with Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Hairspray to give your hair some sheen and staying power.

3. Lifted Crown:
Volume at the hairline is super-sexy, easy to achieve and in right now! This is a great style for creating both an instantly slimming effect as well as giving the illusion of more height as seen on Kate Beckinsale.

To achieve this look, spray John Frieda Root Lift throughout the roots of towel dried hair. Starting at the crown, wind a section of hair around a round brush and lift away from the head, using medium/high tension as you blow-dry the root of the hair. Once hair is completely dry, shake the Brazilian Blowout Volume Instant Body Boost Powder into your hands and rub throughout the root area of the hair, concentrating on the crown to provide long-lasting lift.

Using a fine toothcomb, tease hair at the roots near the crown and then sweep hair up into desired ponytail or half/up style.
