"Guardians of the Galaxy" had many Marvel fans scratching their heads (and some probably cheering) with the hidden end credits.
*SPOLIER ALERT – stop here if you have not seen the movie!
After Star-Lord and his gang fly off and the credits finish rolling, the scene cuts back to Knowhere, where The Collector (played by Benicio Del Toro) is seen in the middle of his destroyed museum of oddities and prized possessions.
He drinks a bright green drink cocktail as a dog (wearing a space suit) walks up to him and licks his face.
(Hardcore "Guardians" fans will recognize the dog as Cosmo, a telepathic Russian dog who is Knowhere's head of security and works with the Guardians in the events of the comic book series.)
From off screen, “What do you let him lick you like that for?” is heard.
The camera pans to reveal Howard The Duck, a fan-favorite (well, to some at least!) from the Marvel Universe who starred in a 1986 George Lucas-produced film, that was universally slaughtered by critics.
“Gross,” Howard says, then takes a sip of his own drink.
Will Howard get a Marvel reboot of his own or is this just director James Gunn paying tribute to a semi-obscure character? Let the speculation begin!
