Social media sensation Hayes Grier

Hey guys! Last night was so much fun!
Emma and I got a jazz performance
to “You’re the One That I Want” by Olivia Newton John and John Travolta from
the iconic movie, “Grease.”
Yes… it’s true that I had never
seen the movie! But once I got familiar with it, I knew that I really had to
embody the character of Danny Zuko and get into it… it was such an iconic scene
so I wanted to make sure I did it right. There is definitely an extra challenge
doing a scene that is so well known, it brings a lot of pressure because people
know exactly how they felt watching the original. And! knowing we have the
original Sandy, the amazing, Olivia Newton-John watching us too, we had to pull
it off!
I loved doing this particular
routine. I’ve always been athletic and played sports, so there was a really
athletic element to the dance which I enjoyed. Doing the flip was so much fun!
I was nervous at first, it’s a tough move, but once I stopped thinking about
the cameras and the people watching, I was able to just do it.
The best feeling was when Olivia
Newton-John told me I was a baby John… I knew I did the character justice! It
was an honor to perform in front of her.
