Hillary Clinton Talks Chelsea’s Wedding: ‘It Is A Family Wedding’

Rumors have been swirling about former first daughter Chelsea Clinton’s upcoming wedding to Marc Mezvinsky and mom Hillary Clinton said it will be a family affair.

According to NBC’s “Today” show, Chelsea is set to walk down the aisle on July 31 reportedly in Rhinebeck, N.Y. The bride will reportedly wear an Oscar de la Renta gown and the guest list is at approximately 400 people – but the mother of the bride is keeping mum on the details about her daughter’s big day.

“My lips are sealed. I am under very strict orders not to talk about it, and I think for the right reasons, because it is hers,” Secretary of State Clinton told NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell during an interview in Pakistan, which aired on the “Today” show on Monday.

Though names like The Obamas, Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Streisand, Steven Spielberg and Ted Turner are reportedly on the guest list, Hillary stressed that those who will be in attendance are people important to the happy couple.

“It is a family wedding,” Hillary continued in the interview. “The people coming are her friends and people who have been meaningful in her life, as it should be.”

New York Times White House correspondent Sheryl Gay Stolberg told “Today’s” Ann Curry that it’s likely that both a minister and a rabbi will preside over the couple’s interfaith ceremony.

Chelsea first met Marc (who is Jewish) when she was a teenager. They both attended Stanford University together, but did not begin dating until after they both graduated.
