Is Tiger Woods Revising Wife Elin Nordegren’s Prenup?

Is Tiger Woods revising his wife’s prenuptial agreement in the wake of claims he’s been involved in extramarital affairs? That’s the case, according to a new report.

On Thursday, the Daily Beast claimed the professional golfer is currently working out a $5 million “payout” to his wife of five years, former Swedish model Elin Nordegren, and revising their prenuptial agreement to increase the amount of money she could eventually walk away with.

According to the Web site, in October 2004, the blonde signed a prenup worth a reported $20 million after a decade of marriage, but that could be changing. A lawyer “familiar with the couple’s negotiations” told the Web site that the agreement is being revised.

Among the changes the Web site claims are being made include a shortening of the agreement from the original decade to just seven years, and increasing its payout over time to more than $75 million.

The Web site reports that Nordegren could walk away from the marriage after seven more years with the golfer with a total of $80 million, provided she maintains the appearance of a good wife and she signs a non-disclosure agreement not to share her story.

Additionally, the Daily Beast reported that Woods’ advisors believe the golfer staying in his marriage will keep his sponsors around and help out his image.

But Nordegren’s life will change whether she remains quiet and takes the reported deal or not. According to the Web site, pictures of Elin and the couple’s two children are in demand and could be worth up to $250,000.

The couple are reportedly in counseling.

On Wednesday, Woods posted an apology on his official Web site, admitting to “transgressions” and “personal sins.” He also wrote, “I have let my family down.”

And high profile publicist Ken Sunshine, who does not represent Woods, said this was the right move in the wake of his PR crisis.

“I think it’s honest, it’s emotional, it’s personal,” Sunshine told Access Hollywood on Wednesday. “It wouldn’t have gone away if he’d done this four days ago, but it sure would have been tempered and he would have at least tried to get ahead of the game.”
