James Corden Becomes One Of The Backstreet Boys (For One Night Only)

James Corden may not have carpooled with them around Los Angeles
on his way to work on “The Late Late Show,” but he did get to sing —
and perform – with the Backstreet Boys.

James’ surprise performance with the band came after the
late night host gave the group a stellar introduction by pitching his audience
on bringing boy bands back.

“I care about this maybe more than anything else on the
planet, because we are bringing back boy bands. I’m talking proper boy bands.
Five guys together. I’m talking about the cute one, the funny one, the nice
one, the other one and the maverick who refused to play by the rules, all
living together in some weird mansion in Orlando,” James began.

As his introduction continued, the host said he realized boy
bands haven’t gone away, but, as he put it, “now they just stand on stage
wearing skinny jeans and Vans sneakers. And some of them – some of them – even
have the audacity to pick up instruments.”

“That is not what I want in a boy band, okay?”
James continued. “I want matching outfits, synchronized dancing and way
over budget music videos, okay? That’s why boy bands — we’re bringing you
back.”

The Backstreet Boys then took to the stage for
“Everybody (Backstreet’s Back),” with James as a one-night-only sixth
member.

James joined the group – in boy band appropriate attire
(black jeans and a leather jacket) – by taking over one of Nick Carter’s
classic lines (“am I sexual?”). He helped out with harmonies on the
tune and nailed the BSB choreography.
