Jason Biggs Apologizes For Malaysia Airlines Joke Tweet

Jason Biggs has apologized and deleted his Tweets about the Malaysia Airlines plane that crashed on Thursday.

“1). Hey all- ok, so- I am deleting my previous tweets. People were offended, and that was not my intent. Sorry to those of you that were,” the “Orange Is the New Black” star wrote on Thursday evening.

He continued to explain himself and his headline-making posts in a series of new Tweets.

“2). This is obviously a horrible tragedy, and everyone-including myself- is sad and angry about it. Sending positive thoughts to the,” he continued. “3). victims and their families. P.S. No one is making me send these tweets- I simply understand that my comments might have come off… 4). as insensitive and ill-timed. For that, I apologize.”

Controversy began after the actor wrote,”Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?” following the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, which was carrying 280 passengers and 15 crew members in a flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

The plane crashed in eastern Ukraine near the Russian border, and area riddled with violence from pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian forces. There are no known survivors from the flight.
