Jennifer Aniston Says ‘The Breakup’ Helped Her Recover After Brad Pitt Split

Jennifer Aniston has once again addressed her breakup with Brad Pitt, admitting that filming “The Breakup” with Vince Vaughn, after her split with her husband, was healing.

The actress was drawn into speaking about her Pitt split while visiting “Inside the Actors Studio” with James Lipton, who asked, “What drew you to the film ‘The Breakup’?”

“It was just a beautiful human story about this couple breaking up, and I could kinda, you know… I was slightly familiar with the topic and issue, and so I honestly felt like, what a great way to sort of exercise some of that,” Aniston said in excepts released by Bravo on Thursday.

The “Horrible Bosses” actress said filming the movie, about a couple still living together, despite breaking up, made things more comfortable in her own life.

“Did that familiarity make it easier or harder?” Lipton asked.

“Easier oddly. I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed it,” she said. “You would think otherwise, because even the producers were like, ‘I don’t know if we should ask you to do this,’ and I was like, ‘Why not? Turn the page, let’s move on.’”

Aniston has rarely spoken about her split with Pitt over the years.

She last addressed it with ELLE UK magazine in 2009, telling the mag at the time, “There is no bad guy and there is no good guy. There are no villains and there is no heroine in this story. It’s just not the case.”

Lipton also asked Aniston about ethereal things, like heaven during her chat on “Inside the Actors Studio.”

“If heaven exists, what would you like God to say to you when you arrive at the pearly gates?” he asked.

“Never thought I’d see you here,” the actress laughed.

The actress appearance on the show airs on Bravo on Monday at 8 PM ET/PT.
