Jonathan Groff To Star In Ryan Murphy’s The Normal Heart

After starring on “Glee,” Jonathan Groff has been cast in another Ryan Murphy production.

This time, the actor will be playing Craig in Murphy’s HBO movie adaptation of Larry Kramer’s Tony Award-winning play, “The Normal Heart,” according to Deadline.

Groff will star as Craig, an early AIDS victim and first lover of Bruce Niles – a closeted investment banker who becomes an AIDS activist (played by “Savages” star Taylor Kitsch), the website reported.

“The Normal Heart” chronicles the HIV/AIDS crisis in New York City in the early ‘80s.

In addition to Kitsch, Groff joins a host of other stars lined up for the telepic, including Julia Roberts, Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer and Jim Parsons.

“The Normal Heart” is slated to premiere on the network in 2014.
