Justin Guarini Fires Back At Broke Report: ‘I’m Nowhere Near Poverty’

Former “American Idol” runner-up Justin Guarini has fired back at a People magazine headline stating he skips meals in order to feed his kids.

“Obviously you completely missed the point of my letter @peoplemag,” the 34-year-old singer/actor Tweeted on Thursday, regarding the mag’s article reporting on the singer’s blog post from the “Idol’ Season 1 alum (which he appears to have since been made private).

“News isn’t news anymore, and I’m nowhere near poverty,” he continued, adding the hashtag “Twisted my truth.”

In the blog post (via People), the father of two – who will soon be seen on Broadway alongside Orlando Bloom as Paris in “Romeo & Juliet” – admits his life has drastically changed since his 2002 run on “Idol,” when he couldn’t go out in public without being approached “a hundred times” by excited fans.

Currently, Justin reportedly said there are days he skips meals “in order to make sure I have enough. To make sure my children and my wife have enough.”

Despite the hardships, Justin reportedly said that while his new life “ain’t perfect,” the love from wife Reina Capodici and their two children makes it all worth it.
