Kate Walsh: ‘Loser’ For Not Having Kids Comment Was ‘Taken Out Of Context’

Kate Walsh likes to exaggerate – so, don’t twist her quotes around!

Access Hollywood caught up with the actress on Monday night at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival LA Reception where she cleared up recent comments she made to More magazine.

“I feel like a loser,” the 43-year-old “Private Practice” star said in an interview with the mag for its April 2011 issue. “I would definitely love to be a parent. I thought I’d be married and have three or four kids.”

Despite her interview comments, Kate told Access her quote was misinterpreted.

“I say I feel like a loser all the time,” she explained. “I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m a loser, I ate this,’ I didn’t get to work on [time], so I’m what, a loser. I once Tweeted a picture of myself in the airport having dinner by myself, I mean, it’s hyperbole, you know you joke around, you say things, Doesn’t everybody feel like a loser? Moment to moment?

Adding, “Right now I feel great.”

The actress also addressed the More mag quotes on Monday on Twitter.

“Oy vey, u say one thing and it’s friggin’ gospel: to be clear: I do not feel like a loser for not having kids, I was EXAGERATING, people!” Kate wrote.

This isn’t the first time that Kate’s misconstrued words have made headlines recently.

In January, Kate expressed her frustration when she heard Bristol Palin was scheduled to speak about abstinence at Washington University in St. Louis.

The actress Tweeted, “Welcome to the Idiocracy! RT @elliekirsh: @katewalsh please join students at Wash.U. to boycott Bristol Palin’s speech on abstinence. What does she know about college or abstaining?”

Kate later cleared up to Access Hollywood that her Re-Tweet was taken out of context and that she wasn’t supporting the boycott, but rather, just pointing out the silliness of the situation.

“One of the things about Twitter is that people can cut & paste… it used to be that people fact-checked in journalism, but in the Internet it’s the Wild West… it was a really unfortunate situation,” Kate explained about the Bristol Re-Tweet.

She continued, “But to be clear, I made a comment about something that was written, but it was not something that I wrote. So, people I think mistakenly thought that I had sent a Tweet, which I did not send.”
