Kim Kardashian Lands Rolling Stone Cover; Gets Revealing In New Interview

Kim Kardashian Accused Of Cultural Appropriation For New Magazine Cover

She may not be a musician, but Kim Kardashian has landed on (as the Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show song goes) “the cover of the Rolling Stone.”

Kim isn’t the first reality star to appear on the mag’s cover. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi from “Jersey Shore,” and the stars of MTV’s “The Hills” have also been featured underneath the music (and culture) mag’s famous red lettering.

The nautical-themed cover photo was shot by Terry Richardson, Kim revealed in a Tweet on Wednesday.

As for the interview, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star and business mogul answered a variety of questions. Rolling Stone released excerpts from the piece on their website on Wednesday, and some of the topics Kim addressed included getting married at 20, how she considers herself a feminist, her sex tape, her brother Rob Kardashian, and Caitlyn Jenner.

In the interview, Kim revealed that she was 22 when she saw her stepfather, Bruce Jenner (Caitlyn), in women’s clothes in the garage.

“I was shaking,” Kim told the mag. “I didn’t know if I’d just found out his deepest, darkest secret, and he was going to come after me.”

According to the mag, half an hour later, Bruce called Kim and asked her not to tell anyone about what she saw. Bruce told her they would talk about it at some point. That moment came eight years later.

In the Diane Sawyer interview earlier this year, before Caitlyn revealed her name publicly, she told the TV journalist that Kim’s spouse, Kanye West, actually helped Kim to see things in a new way when it came to her stepdad. Kim spoke about the conversation she had with Kanye, in her own words, with the mag.

“[Kanye] obviously moves to his own drum,” she told RS. “He lives his life the way he wants, a really authentic life, and he was like, ‘If you can’t be authentic and you can’t live your life, what do you have?'”

The magazine went back to the early days of Kim’s rise to fame in the interview, asking her about the days she used hang out with Paris Hilton, including how she managed to escape being photographed getting out of a car without undies.

“I rarely wear underwear, but that never happened to me,” she said. “I was never drinking. … I think that saved me a lot.”

It was 2003 when Kim’s sex tape was released, months after Paris’ tape, but it was something she never “really” discussed with the heiress.

“We didn’t really talk about it. I probably would have thought, ‘Oh, my gosh, let me give her advice,’ but we had no communication. But our friendship had fizzled before that,” she said.

As for that infamous sex tape, Kim said she doesn’t spend time mulling over how many people have watched it.

“I don’t really think about it,” she told Rolling Stone. “I thought about it for a long time. But when I get over something, I get over it.”

Rolling Stone’s new issue, featuring Kim on the cover, hits newsstands on Friday, July 3.
