LOS ANGELES (March 8, 2007) ? She?s been romantically linked to actor Djimon Hounsou but she?s also known for her closet to die for. Designer Kimora Lee Simmons gave us a private tour and showed us her newest creations.
?You can just see when she comes out the drama of it all and that’s what KLS is about,? Simmons says after one of her models walksdown our runway.KLS of course, stands for Kimora Lee Simmons. KLS makes a dramatic entrance as the newest line in Phat fashions 200 million dollar a year empire.?A little pricier, a little more exclusive,? Simmons says of the line. ?As a designer it gives you the room to play and do everything that you wanted that it’s like no, we can’t quite afford that on a hundred dollar jean.?Kimora brought in some of her favorite KLS and Baby Phat fashions to our Access runway. Clad in a cocktail dress from her new collection, she taught Access a girl should always go glam.?I kind of made this like if you’re sitting on the plane all day it won’t lose its shape,? she said.
Look to Baby Phat fashions for some suitable casual wear too.?[This is a good look for] when you?re in the airport,? she said. ?You can [wear] a flat [shoe with it] but it must be embellished.??Now this is KLS,? she says of the outfit. ?It’s a faux snake print cocktail dress. Mariah would be great in that because she has great boobs and great legs.??It?s just very, very sexy,? Kimora says of this dress. ?This season is all about the metallics.??The belt goes inside, under and it?s really sort of hot and chic,? Kimora says of this outfit. It?s sort of like Baby Phat and Kimora Lee Simmons have sort of grown up.?
