Laverne Cox To Be Madame Tussauds’ First Transgender Wax Figure

We’ll soon be able to see all of Laverne Cox’s fabulousness immortalized in wax!

The “Orange is The New Black” star will be the first transgender wax figure to be displayed at Madame Tussauds wax museum.

“I am so deeply honored to have been asked to be part of the Madame Tussauds legacy,” the actress said in a statement to San Jose’s Mercury news. “I hope that this will be a source of inspiration for everyone who encounters it to believe that their dreams matter and are possible.”

Laverne’s wax double will make its debut at the museum’s Fisherman’s Wharf location in San Francisco, Calif., on June 26 in conjunction with SF’s Pride Weekend.

And see Laverne in “Orange is The New Black,” when Season 3 hits Netflix on Friday.
