Lea Michele Has No Plans To Take A Post-‘Glee’ Break; Opens Up On Being Told She’s ‘Not Pretty Enough’

Lea Michele, who plays high school ingenue Rachel Berry on “Glee,” will soon be leaving the hit FOX show after her character graduates at the end of this season. However, the 24-year-old singing sensation — who will turn 25 on August 29 — says she has no intention of slowing down.

“I don’t stop. It’s my nature,” Lea told Harper’s Bazaar in an interview for their September issue. “People have to tell me to slow down. I plan on playing every role on Broadway… I want to do movies, make music. ‘Glee’ is only the beginning.”

Lea, who got her start on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning “Spring Awakening,” said talks of her unconventional looks have plagued her since the beginning of her showbiz career, but she hasn’t been deterred by the perception of typical Hollywood beauty.

“I’m five foot three. I don’t look like a lot of other people… I look like I’m 12,” she told the mag. “How many managers told me, ‘Get a nose job. You’re not pretty enough’? But I proved them wrong.”

As for her personal life, the actress is enjoying her relationship with fellow Broadway vet Theo Stockman and revealed that a typical evening for the pair involves cooking dinner and having wine before indulging in some good old reality TV.

“I watch Bravo like it’s unhealthy,” Lea told the mag, adding that Teresa from “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” reminds her of her family. “I’m Italian.”
