Liv Tyler Reveals Newborn Son’s Name

Anchors away! Liv Tyler has announced her newborn son’s name, and it has a nautical ring to it.

“Sailor Gene Gardner,” the actress shared on Instagram on Friday, alongside a photo of her baby’s tiny hand holding a piece of jewelry with an anchor on it.

Sailor – who was born prematurely, but healthy, on February 11 – was surrounded by love when he entered the world last week. His grandfather, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, rushed to the hospital as soon as he heard daughter Liv had gone into labor.

“When I got the call that Liv Tyler was going into labor, after crying like a baby myself, I immediately dropped everything and went to to the airport to get on the next available flight,” he captioned a photo last Friday on Facebook with his two daughters, Liv and Mia, in the delivery room. “When I landed I kept calling my daughter Mia Tyler who was already helping Liv and she kept giving me minute by minute updates, ‘HURRY THE BABY IS COMING!’ I made it RIGHT in time before my second grandson entered this world. It was another (God wink) moment of a lifetime for me.”

Liv Tyler announced that she and boyfriend Dave Gardner named their son Sailor Gene Gardner in the caption of this Instagram photo that the actress posted on February 20, 2015 (Instagram)

The new mom stepped out Friday with what appears to possibly be an engagement ring on her left hand.
