There’s a new arrival in the McConaughey home, the star announced on his Web site.
Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves have welcomed their second child, daughter Vida Alves McConaughey.
“Happy New Year everybody!!! On Sunday, Jan. 3rd at 12:13am, Camila gave birth to a healthy 7lb. 7oz. baby girl,” the proud parents wrote on the actor’s site. “‘Vida’ is Portuguese for ‘life’ and that’s what God gave us this morning.”
The couple added that Camila is “recovering wonderfully.”
The two are also parents to son Levi, 17 months.
The sex of baby Vida was news to her family — in September, Matthew wrote on his MySpace blog that they had yet to find out for themselves what the baby would be.
“Not sure if it’s a boy or girl but we have our instincts,” he said at the time, asking his fans, “What are you thinking?”
