Miley Cyrus Fires Back At Sinead With Nothing Compares Lyrics; Sia, Tegan & Sara Weigh In

It’s day three of the Miley Cyrus vs. Sinead O’Connor feud.

Here’s what went down as the dueling pair enter their third day in the verbal ring:

Sinead made an appearance on Ireland’s “Late, Late Show” (a calm and well-spoken appearance, we might add) on Friday night, where she explained her motivations for writing her initial open letter to the “We Can’t Stop” singer.

“Miley’s records are great records, as far as I’m concerned. I wouldn’t be saying that these artists are not making great records. But what I’m trying to say is that the industry of music does exploit people who are possibly a little too young to know what they’re doing,” Sinead said.

“As a person who loves music and believes in the power of music to change things, the industry has taken over so much [of] the money making side of it that actually all the sexualizing of extremely young people, for example, and all of the kind of worship of money and bling and diamonds, all the pop idol stuff, all the Simon Cowell/Louis Walsh stuff – it all amounts to the murder of music,” she continued.

Miley, who released semi-nude photos of herself on Thursday, responded via Tweet (as per usual), this time hitting back at Sinead using a line from her famous 1990 hit, “Nothing Compares 2 U.”

“I went to the doctor guess what he told me, guess what he told me. He said girl you better try to have fun. No matter what you do,” the 20-year-old singer Tweeted.

Pop singer/songwriter Sia weighed in on the feud on Twitter, writing, “Love you” to Miley, before adding, “Truly believe that feminism is being nice to other women, and allowing them to express themselves however they choose, without criticism.”

Miley responded to Sia, Tweeting, “Love you more.”

Indie rock sisters Tegan and Sara voiced their support for Team Miley, Tweeting, “Back to being mad at/fake worried about Miley Cyrus? I’m a gay feminist prude and I’m feeling okay with her choice to work it. Lets move on.”

VOTE: Are you Team Miley or Team Sinead?
