Miss Puerto Rico Universe: Was She Sabotaged?

Miss Puerto Rico Universe claims someone may have sabotaged her clothing and makeup with pepper spray, but did it really happen? On Wednesday, Access Hollywood’s Tim Vincent had the chance to ask the questions.

“So you have not invented this?” Tim asked.

“No way,” Miss Puerto Rico, Ingrid Marie Rivera said.

“This absolutely happened to you?” he asked.

“It did, unfortunately,” she said.

Ingrid Marie Rivera claims her evening gown, makeup brush and swimsuit were laced with pepper spray.

“It was a horrible feeling ‘cause it felt like burning and my eyes were all watery,” she told Tim. “It was really bad.”

Ingrid says she was sabotaged twice – first in the preliminary competition November 18 and then in the finals, five days later.

“I took my brush and it was wet, kind of wet feeling and I brushed on my face and my chest because I had a strapless dress and less than a minute after I became swollen and reddish,” she said.

Some say Ingrid had an unfair advantage – she was a runner up in 2005s Miss World Competition and last year she was a judge in Puerto Rico during the fast paced live show.

“How would anybody have time to sabotage your outfit without being seen?” Tim asked.

“I don’t like to point out anyone, but there’s an investigation going on there are videos from the dressing rooms so even if everyone is out you know who’s going in when everyone is on stage,” she said.

Ingrid’s evening gown and makeup are being tested in Puerto Rico. Up next for Ingrid? May’s Miss Universe pageant in Vietnam.

“I’m very excited and happy about it and I’d like to work for [Donald] Trump,” she said.
