‘Modern Family’ Stars Celebrate Screen Actors Guild Award Win With Justin Timberlake & Betty White

The cast of “Modern Family” had trouble containing their excitement after winning the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, an honor that came along with props from Justin Timberlake and a photo op with Betty White.

“You guys jumped out of your seats!” Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson reminded the cast of the hit ABC series backstage at The 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday.

“Because we won!” an ecstatic Sofia Vergara said.

“We’re not exactly like those dignified [actors] where you get up and they’re like, ‘Oh, we won.’… We were pretty excited!” co-star Ty Burrell explained.

Eric Stonestreet credits the cast working as a group and the writers for their win.

“We made no bones about the fact that we are proud of our show. We’re proud of our cast. We’re proud of our ensemble,” he told Shaun. “Everyone carries the same amount on our show and the writers do such a great job of giving us all something brilliant every week to do.”

“Modern Family’s” win also included some love from Justin Timberlake.

“You got a high-five from Justin Timberlake?” Shaun asked 12-year-old Nolan Gould, who plays the show’s youngest character, Luke Dunphy.

“Yeah, I did. We worked on a movie together, so…” Nolan told Shaun.

“He gave me two high-fives, so…” Ty joked with his onscreen son.

“He gave me three,” Nolan countered.

“He gave me like four high-fives,” Ty said.

Sofia, who lost out to Betty White in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor category in a Comedy Series, might have received the night’s highest honor.

“Well, I have a picture with Betty White, so, that’s better than a high-five, I’m sorry!” she added.
