Molly Ringwald Joins ‘Jem And The Holograms’ Movie

Molly Ringwald, queen of the ‘80s Brat Pack movies, has signed on for another classic throwback to the era.

The “Breakfast Club” star has been cast in the upcoming big screen adaption of “Jem and the Holograms,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Molly confirmed the casting news on Tuesday via Twitter, re-Tweeting the THR story and adding, “Finally get to talk about it!”

What role the 46-year-old actress will play has not yet been announced.

The Jon M. Chu-directed film stars “Nashville’s” Aubrey Peeples as Jem, while Aurora Perrineau, Hayley Kiyko and Stefanie Scott will play the Holograms.

Ryan Guzman (“Step Up,” “Pretty Little Liars”) will star as Rio, Jem’s love interest.

Juliette Lewis is also in the movie.

“Jem and the Holograms” is expected to hit theaters in 2016.
