New Details Emerge In Death Of Michael Cavallari

New details have emerged in the death of Kristin Cavallari’s
brother, Michael.

Grand County Sheriff Steven
White told Access Hollywood Michael Cavallari –
who went missing in late November after his vehicle was found abandoned off
Interstate 70 in Utah – was found thanks to the efforts of both ground and dog
search teams.

“They sort of convened
at the same place at the same time,” White told Access, noting that
approximately 30 people were involved in the search on the day they found
Michael’s body. “Nobody gave up until we found him.”

As for what killed the
30-year-old, White suggested hypothermia may have been a contributing factor.

“As for the final cause of death, I can’t say until I get
the autopsy results back. I’m not a doctor,” White said, adding that temperatures in
the area have dropped into the teens at night.

There were reportedly no signs of major trauma, no suicide
note and no evidence of drugs or alcohol. The Utah medical
examiner in Salt Lake City is now in possession of Michael’s body, and it is
expected that toxicology results will be revealed in 6-8 weeks.

Michael was found wearing the same jeans and green shirt he
wore when spotted in surveillance video inside of Maverik,
a Monticello, Utah gas station convenience
store, on Nov.
27, 2015.

The brother of reality star-turned-fashion designer Kristin, Michael had been missing for two weeks when
his Honda Civic was found a few miles down a dirt path off of Interstate 70.
The car had been left running, and Michael’s cell phone and laptop were found
inside. His body was eventually found about three miles from the vehicle.

It is believed Michael – who was arrested on November 23 in Orange County, Calif., for allegedly
threatening a woman – was traveling from California to Illinois to see sister
Kristin, who recently gave birth to daughter Saylor James, her third child with
husband Jay Cutler. Michael was later released and bailed out from Orange County
Jail the morning of November 25.

On Thursday, Kristin took to Instagram to mourn her brother.

“My
heart is in a million pieces,” Kristin wrote, captioning a sweet baby
photo of her and Michael. “Mikey, I could always count on you to make me
laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I’m at a loss for
words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much
RIP.”
