‘Powers’: What’s Next For Walker?

Super Shock helped stop a riot in
the latest episode of Sony Playstation’s “Powers” series, and there’s more
story to come for the character played by Michael Madsen.

And viewers will learn more about Christian Walker’s past with Super Shock in future episodes.

“They have quite a complex
history, which you get to find out about as the season progresses,”
Sharlto Copley, who plays Christian Walker, told reporters on a set visit late last year. “[It was] sort of an
interesting time from back in the day when they were both powers and now he
sort of comes on to the scene, but he’s acting rather weirdly from how
Christian remembers him.”

Super Shock spent a long time out of the spotlight, but his return captured the attention of the world in the Playstation series and even impressed the-hard-to-impress Deena Pilgrim.

“I think what’s also exciting for Deena is to see her have a different reaction to powers,” Susan Heyward, who plays Deena, said on the same set visit. “Especially in Season 1, she wasn’t really enamored with the powers world, like, ‘Oh, you’re a celebrity, you fly, woop dee frickin’ do.’ But with Super Shock we get to see her be enamored [with] someone with that much power and that much weight, so that’s been fun.”

Last week’s episode also revealed to the world that Calista is the new Retro Girl and at some point in the coming weeks, Walker will get to play a kind of mentor to the hero-in-the-making.

“There’s stuff that as she goes and as you go through the season, he’s the one person that can actually help her deal with a lot of the stuff that she’s going to have to face on that journey, of going from a normal teenager to a superhero,” Sharlto said.

There’s also mentoring going on with Triphammer (Andrew Sensenig), who in Tuesday’s new episode puts Zora (Logan Browning) on the mat opposite Sgt. Martinez (Raul Casso). AccessHollywood.com has your exclusive sneak peek at that scene, below.
