ROLL CALL: Daniel Radcliffe & Florence Welch Headed To Star Wars?

Your Daily Dispatch of Celebrity Shenanigans

Let The “Star Wars” Casting Rumors Begin!: No official casting announcements have been made for the upcoming “Star Wars; Episode VII,” but that hasn’t stopped actors (and singers) from working their names into the mix of possibilities. Daniel Radcliffe is done with “Harry Potter,” and he’s looking for a possible new series. “Franchise mustn’t become a dirty word. If directors like J.J. Abrams and Joss Whedon keep doing what they’re doing, it won’t be. I’d love to be part of one again,” the actor said in a recent interview with Time Out. “Maybe not leading it: a nice supporting role. In ‘Star Wars?’ Yeah, that’d be awesome. That’d be crazy cool,” he added.

And that’s not the only “Star Wars” casting story making headlines. Britain’s The Sun claimed that Florence and the Machine singer Florence Welch is being considered for a role in “Episode VII.” “She has done some acting but it was her singing on stage that initially caught the eye. Almost every actress in Hollywood wants a role in the new movies but we are keen to cast people who are unexpected,” a source told the paper. “Florence is being considered for a major part that would turn her into an A-list actress overnight.”

More Casting Rumors (Of The 007 Variety) Out Of Britain: Has a new Bond girl been lined up? According to Yahoo UK, Penelope Cruz is reportedly being considered for the next James Bond movie. “The producers have tried to get Penelope before, but she has never been available because of other commitments. The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details now,” a source claimed. If the 39-year-old Spanish actress is cast, she would be the oldest Bond girl to ever mix it up with the spy. Naturally, Sony had no comment on the rumor when contacted by Yahoo UK.
