Sarah Jessica Parker got candid about feminism, marriage
and more for Marie Claire’s September issue.
“I
am not a feminist. I don’t think I qualify,” she told the mag, but went on to clarify,
“but I think there is so much that needs to be done that I don’t even want
to separate it anymore. I’m so tired of separation. I just want people to be
treated equally.”
Though she doesn’t consider herself a feminist in the
traditional sense, SJP does have strong feelings
about the gender pay gap.

nonsense to end. I would like women to get paid for the value of their
contributions, not by old-fashioned ideas about gender,” she said.
The “Divorce” star also shared
her personal feelings about divorce and marriage.

“For me, it’s really the investment
in the other person. And it’s the expectations you have,” she said, adding, “they
change and you get smarter, and maybe you think those expectations aren’t worth
striving for with this person, and that’s when people bail.”
For more on Sarah Jessica Parker, Marie Claire’s
September issue will be on newsstands on August 16.
“Divorce” premieres
