Scandal’s Kerry Washington Doesn’t Drink Alcohol, Says No To ‘Empty Calories’

Olivia Pope treasures her near-nightly glass (or two) of red wine, but Kerry Washington – who plays the fierce fixer on “Scandal” – stays away from alcohol.

“I actually live quietly. Work hard. Get bored easily. Don’t drink. Who needs those empty calories?” the actress told the New York Post.

And how does she keep her figure camera ready? (Liv loves a good jog, clad in unforgiving workout pants!)

“I watch what I eat. I train, do pilates,” she told the paper.

The 36-year-old, who starred in David Mamet’s expletive-laced Broadway show, “Race,” a few years ago, will host “Saturday Night Live” for the first time next month and said her parents – who used be less-than-thrilled with her edgier on-screen moments – have come around.

“My parents aren’t upset anymore at my four-letter words in ‘Race’ or ‘Scandal’ concepts or anything I’ll do on ’SNL,’” she said. “They understand now it’s just storytelling. They don’t go heavy on me about it anymore.”

See Kerry host “SNL” with musical guest Eminem on November 2.
