Scott Eastwood Confirms ‘Fast 8’ Role, Promises To Make Paul Walker ‘Proud’

Scott Eastwood
is about to rev things up! The actor has been announced as the newest addition
to the anticipated “Fast and Furious” sequel, “Fast 8.”

On Monday, Scott
confirmed the news with an enthusiastic and heartfelt Instagram post honoring both
the blockbuster franchise and its cast.

“It’s hard to put into words how excited I am for the
next Fast & Furious. To me, the series is so much more than just a
franchise. It’s a legacy,” he
wrote, captioning a photo of himself with the hashtag “#F8” on
display.

“These great actors who have been in it together for so long
have become a family. I absolutely can’t wait to join it,” the 30-year-old
continued, before paying special tribute to late “Fast and Furious” star
Paul Walker.

“Paul was a close friend of mine. We
surfed together, traveled together, and he was a huge role model and
influencing figure in my life when I was younger. He still is,” Scott wrote
of his pal, who died in a car accident in 2013. “He was an older brother
to me. For me to be able to add to the F&F story, Paul’s story, and the
FAST family is like a dream come true.”

While Scott admitted that he “can’t
say too much” about his role in the upcoming film, he did reveal he’s
playing “a new character who operates under Kurt Russell.”

For Scott, it’s an opportunity to work with
someone he considers a “childhood hero.”

“Very much
looking forward to learning a thing or two from such an original and cool
guy,” Scott wrote of Kurt, who made his own “Fast and Furious”
debut as Mr. Nobody in 2015’s “Furious 7.”

Scott’s not the
only newcomer on deck.
