Selena Gomez Returns To Instagram; Shares Touching Post

Selena Gomez returned to Instagram on Thursday with a touching post.

"I have a lot to be thankful for this year.. My year has been the hardest yet most rewarding one yet. I've finally fought the fight of not 'being enough'. I have only wanted to reflect the love you guys have given me for years and show how important it is to take care of YOU. By grace through faith," Selena wrote on her Instagram page on Thursday evening. "Kindness always wins. I love you guys. God bless."

The singer's post (her first in more than three months) was accompanied by a black-and-white photo showing her with fans at a past event.

Back in August, Selena announced she was taking time off to focus on her health as she battles Lupus.

"As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways," she said in her August statement. "I've discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges."

"I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off," she said in a statement at the time.

At last week's American Music Awards, Selena thanked her fans for their support as she accepted the award for Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock.

"I think it's safe to say that most of you know a lot of my life whether I liked it or not, and I had to stop 'cause I had everything, and I was absolutely broken inside. And I kept it all together enough to where I never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down," she said onstage.

"I don't want to see your bodies on Instagram. I want to see what's in here," she continued, pointing to her heart. "I'm not trying to get validation, nor do I need it anymore. All I can say from the bottom of my heart is I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to be able to share what I love every single day with people that I love. And I have to say thank you so much to my fans because you guys are so damn loyal, and I don't know what I did to deserve you. But, if you are broken, you do not have to stay broken."

Selena became the most followed person on Instagram earlier this year. She now has 103 million followers.
