Sofia Vergara Warns Boyfriend Not To ‘Ruin’ Her Emmy After-Party Experience; Says Ed O’Neill Should Take Over Post-Emmy Nude Run Duties

“Modern Family” siren Sofia Vergara’s first experience as an Emmy Award nominee was less than joyful last year as her boyfriend, Nick Loeb, was in the hospital after suffering a fractured pelvis following a serious car crash.

Now, the actress will get a second chance to fully celebrate at this year’s Emmys (she was nominated yet again on Thursday morning for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for the ABC sitcom), and the Colombian bombshell says she’s already cautioned her beau to stay healthy!

“Remember that year? I was exhausted because like four days before — [Nick] had the horrible accident,” Sofia recalled in a phone interview with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Thursday’s Access Hollywood Live of 2010’s Emmy Awards. “So when I was at the Emmys, I couldn’t really enjoy the after-party – I had to go back early because I had nobody to stay with him in the hospital.

“So I warned him this morning, ‘You better not ruin my Emmy after-party this year!’” she jokingly continued.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, in July 2010, the team behind “Modern Family” took out an ad in the trade magazines claiming “If Modern Family wins the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy, Sofia Vergara will run naked down Sunset Blvd.”

While Sofia may not have made good on the team’s promise, she was more than happy to nominate one of her fellow castmates for the nude run honor this year – her onscreen husband, Ed O’Neill (who received his first ever Emmy nomination Thursday morning for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series).

“I think it’s going to be Ed O’Neill because he got nominated this year,” she told Billy and Kit with a laugh, when asked which “Modern Family” star should have to strip down and make a run for it. “So he should pay this year too!”

“Modern Family” was honored with 17 Emmy nominations on Thursday.

The 63rd Annual Primetime Emmys will air on September 18.
