The film’s director, Gareth Edwards, gave fans at the “Star Wars” Celebration their first glimpse and new details about the Felicity Jones-starring movie.

The film, set between “Revenge of the Sith” and a “New Hope” (Episode III, but before Episode IV, and “closer to Episode IV”) will focus on how the rebels steal The Death Star plans.

Lucasfilm/Disney released an official description of the movie on Sunday.

“A rogue band of resistance fighters unite for a mission to steal the Death Star plans and bring a new hope to the galaxy,” the film’s description read.

Though the movie won’t begin filming until the summer, the director shared an early teaser for the film.

The teaser opens on a forest-looking planet with a sweeping shot of a river valley and an Obi-Wan Kenobi voiceover. A TIE Fighter is seen screeching through the sky. As the shot panned out, the Death Star is seen looming over the horizon of the planet. The teaser then cut to darkness as a frantic voiceover of possibly a pilot is heard. Then, “Star Wars: Rogue One – Anthology” flashed on the screen as the fans cheered.

Unlike all other “Star Wars” films before, this one will not focus on the Jedi, instead it’s a war movie about those not blessed with The Force.

“[It’s about] a group of individuals who don’t have magical powers, who have to bring hope to the galaxy… in an era when there is no Jedi,” Gareth said.

The director said he’s looking to explore the grey areas of the “Star Wars” universe and delve into “the reality of war, where good guys are bad and bad guys are good.”

He offered up one small detail on Felicity’s character, saying, “she plays a rebel soldier.”

“Star Wars: Rogue One” hits theaters in December 2016.
