Hip-hop mogul Suge Knight is preparing to turn himself in after reportedly driving the car in a hit and run that ended in a fatality, on Thursday.
According to KABC, a lawyer for Knight confirmed that the hip-hop mogul was the driver in the incident that occurred around 3 PM in Compton, Calif.
Knight claimed the incident happened after two people attacked him and he tried to flee in his car, according to Knight’s lawyer, James Blatt, per KABC.

A security guard named Denise Mazzei, who works at the Rite Aid across from the crime scene, did not witness the incident happen, but commented on the aftermath.
“There were like four or five ambulances that showed up. It was hectic. I’ve never seen so many ambulances in one place,” Mazzei told Access Hollywood.

On Thursday, a promotional video was being shot related to the film, “Straight Outta Compton,” based on rap group NWA, however the incident did not happen on that set, a source told Access. Filming on the promotional piece had wrapped for the day.
Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, who were on set earlier in the day, were not present when the incident involving Knight occurred the source said.
