The cast and crew of FOX’s “Bones” had their own medical mystery on their hands, when star David Boreanaz came down with a flu that was first believed to be of the swine variety, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
“First time in Bones history we are shut down from production. Damn swine flu! That’s gonna cut into Christmas hiatus,” “Bones” creator Hart Hanson Tweeted on Monday.
But Hanson appeared to have squealed swine a little too soon.
“Oops! There is no indication that Boreanaz has swine flu,” Hanson wrote in another Twitter post. “We expect him back tomorrow. I’m now going out to get swine flu myself in atonement.”
By Tuesday, the flu-stricken David had made a rebound and returned to work.
“I’m great! Got hit hard with the flu…I’m back at work today, doing great,” David told Access’ Billy Bush in an interview for “The Billy Bush Show.” “I’m over it.”
“Swine or regular?” Billy asked.
“Hollywood flu,” David joked.
