Teri Hatcher: My Mom Tried To Set Me Up With An Italian Tour Guide

Teri Hatcher may not have a man in her life, but that could change if her mom has anything to do with it.

“There is still no new man, but it is not for lack of my family and friends trying,” Teri told the ladies of “The View” on Friday.

The actress revealed that her mother, who is 75, recently sent her a message while on an trip to Italy, complete with a photo of the man she thinks the “Desperate Housewives” actress should date.

“She goes on the cruise with her girlfriend — she’s over there right now — she sends me a picture. She’s e-mailing me what a great time [she’s having],” Teri explained. “She sends me a picture that says, ‘I’m with our private guide in Dubrovnik’ and the e-mail says, ‘He’s very available and very undemanding.’”

Her mother calling the silver-haired gent, who was pictured enjoying a meal with Teri’s mom and a pal “undemanding,” cracked up the 45-year-old actress.

“I thought, ‘OK, well wait. First of all, he’s 12 and he lives in Italy,’” she said jokingly. “But ‘undemanding’? That’s the overriding quality my mom thinks I’m looking for? ‘He’s very ‘undemanding’?”

During her visit to “The View,” Teri also revealed what she really thinks about sex on a first date after a discussion about romantic comedies.

“I think that the destiny of what two human beings are together is probably there from the first date or not,” she told co-host Sherri Shepherd, who asked the question. “Meaning that if you’re with a guy that is more interested if you hold back and keep it from him for six dates or whatever, that’s gonna manifest itself in some ugly way later… And if you’re with a guy that just wants to throw you out because you sleep with him on the first date, he was probably gonna do that by the fifth date anyway.

“I think you have to look for the human being in each unique situation — this coming from the person who hasn’t been in a relationship in seven years,” she said leaning over on the couch in a fit of laughter.
