“True Blood’s” hunky werewolf Joe Manganiello is heading to “White Collar.”
The Pittsburgh-bred actor, who made a splash when he joined the cast of the HBO series last year as Alcide Herveaux, is set to appear on the hit USA show “White Collar,” as an ex-con, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
Manganiello’s yet-to-be-named character will move into the neighborhood of FBI agent Peter Burke (played by Tim DeKay), where he’ll be causing trouble, Entertainment Weekly was first to report.
The actor will appear in just one episode of the show, his rep confirmed to Access Hollywood.
Manganiello’s episode will air sometime next year.
Currently, the actor is wrapping up Season 4 of “True Blood,” which began airing last week on HBO. Manganiello’s first episode back on the vampire-led drama is July 10.
Interestingly, both Manganiello and “White Collar” star Matt Bomer were courted for “Superman” roles.
Bomer once screen tested for the part when Brett Ratner was working on a “Superman” reboot. Manganiello, from the Steelers hometown, was asked to screen test for the current Zack Snyder-directed Man of Steel project, but “True Blood” commitments prevented that from taking place.
On Wednesday afternoon, Joe himself revealed the two shared a little more in common — their Alma mater, Carnegie Melon.
“Unbelievably excited to hang out with and work with my old friend and CMU classmate Mat Bomer again!” he Tweeted.
