Viola Davis’ 4-Year-Old Daughter Copies Her Emmy Look For Halloween

Like mother, like daughter! Viola Davis’ little one got her Halloween inspiration from a very familiar source.

The “How to Get Away With Murder” star shared an adorable Instagram snap on Saturday of her 4-year-old, Genesis, paying tribute to her mom’s history-making Emmy win.

Viola told her followers that Genesis wasn’t interested in the costumes normally seen on kids her age. Instead, she opted to emulate the look her famous mother wore when accepting the prestigious award in September.

“So…..the Elsa costume? Didn’t work for her. The Pirate? A no go. So she finally said, ‘I just want to be YOU mommy!'” the actress wrote, captioning a photo of a beaming Genesis decked out in a white dress and proudly showing off her own golden trophy.

“So… uhh….this is ME,” Viola added of the lookalike snap.

Viola is the first African-American to win the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Emmy, a feat celebrated by many across Hollywood and beyond. No one, however, may have been more excited than Genesis.

The preschooler congratulated her mom after the ceremony with a sweet Instagram message.

“I love you Mommy!” Genesis says in the clip. “And I hope you win another Emmy!”
