Virginia Madsen: Beaming About Botox

NEW YORK (May 8, 2007) — Virginia Madsen is bucking a Hollywood trend.

She’s opening up about using cosmetic treatments like Botox and Juverderm. She says she doesn’t use the products for “Hollywood or for a guy,” but to feel great about herself.

She also says she’s not trying to stop time, but age gracefully. She says “I don’t want to be 25. I’m 45. I love the way I look. I feel better than I ever have in my life.”

She says she uses Botox conservatively. She says, “I wanted my forehead to move. I wanted my eyes to crinkle when I smiled. I wanted to look like me, just more refreshed.”

As for plastic surgery, it could be down the line sometime. She says “it’s not for me right now.” But she adds, get back to her in ten years.

Madsen and the National Women’s Health Resource Center are launching a campaign called “Keep the Wisdom. Lose the Lines.” It’s aimed at educating women about injectable cosmetic treatments.
