‘The White Princess’: Amy Manson, Patrick Gibson Join The Cast

Amy Manson is heading to
Starz’s “The White Princess.”

On Wednesday, the network announced that the Scottish actress,
who played “Brave” character Merida in “Once Upon a Time,” joins the
Starz series as Lady Catherine Gordon, the cousin of Scotland’s King James IV.

“Catherine
is the politically motivated love interest of ‘The Boy’ — a young man who
threatens to rupture the tentative peace bought by the marriage of Elizabeth of
York and Henry VII by claiming to be Prince Richard of York, rightful heir to
the throne and Elizabeth’s long lost brother,” Starz’s character
description reads.

Patrick Gibson is playing The Boy, Starz also announced on Wednesday. Alex Kalyminos (“Becoming Human”) has signed on to direct episodes 4 and 5 of the series, which is currently in production.

“The White Princess” stars Jodie Comer as Princess Elizabeth and “Game of Thrones” alum Michelle Fairley as Margaret Beaufort, the mother of Elizabeth’s betrothed – King Henry Tudor (Jacob Collins-Levy).

A premiere date for the 8-episode limited series has not yet been set.
