X-Men: Days of Future Past: Evan Peters Cast As Quicksilver

Someone very fast is coming to the The X-Men!

“Thrilled to say #EvanPeters is joining#XMen #DaysOfFuturePast as#Quicksilver.” Director Bryan Singer Tweeted on Thursday.

In a deleted Tweet posted earlier on Thursday, the director previously wrote, “Before he was an #Avenger, he was just a REALLY fast kid. Thrilled to say#EvanPeters is joining#XMen #DaysOfFuturePast as #Quicksilver.”

Quicksilver is the mutant son of Magneto, who has the ability to move at amazing speeds. In the Marvel Comics Universe, the character eventually joins The Avengers, with sister the Scarlet Witch.

Quicksilver’s appearance in the upcoming movie (produced by Fox) poses a possible threat to “The Avengers 2,” as both Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch will appear in the Joss Whedon movie (produced by Marvel Studios) – or possibly create fanboy dream crossover between the rival studios.
